Reiki Ritual

Reiki Ritual

A ritual is acting out an intention in a specific pattern, through a thought out sequence. Special objects help to amplify the meaning of the intention.

The Reiki session is a form of ritual, where a practitioner lays on the hands and channels universal life force energy to focus on the recipient’s intention. The energy field is tended to, which ultimately transforms cellular function into a more aligned state of homeostasis. The intention may be disclosed or simply kept by the recipient. The practitioner starts each session with a historically taught method while also combining their own unique technique, continues on with a balance of ancestral guidance and individual intuition, and then finally completes the ritual of channeling Reiki with a blessing; however, Reiki continues its powerful healing for a total of twenty-one days.

Amplifying objects which may be helpful during a ritual or session are any sacred object for the recipient or practitioner, such as a rock or stone, a photograph, a scarf, a drum, a feather…

A ritual is genuinely helpful in the healing process because it emphasizes how important every wound that we carry is. Rituals create a ceremony for these wounds~ a sacred celebration in order to overcome profound wounds and ultimately gain strength and empowerment from the experience.

“The two aspects of ritual–heart and hand, or intention and action–work together to focus our minds on the implications of what we are doing. By acting out our intentions, we feel them more completely–in body, mind, and soul.” Page 11, from the book “Sacred Rituals” by E. London and B. Recio.

Our hands are the extension of our heart center. Our heart’s intentions have the power to transform our lives into healthy homeostasis states.
